Proposed New Lemery Municipal Hall

Proposed New Lemery Municipal Hall
Location: Lemery, Batangas
Client: Municipal Government of Lemery
Dates Active: Sept. 2022 - Jan 2023
Project Summary:
Modernization and upgrading of the old municipal hall in line with the new administration’s campaign centered around progressive change with the motto “ i-Angat”.
The basic concept is that of the triangle. When placed on one of its sides, it represents stability; one thinks of the pyramids - permanent, eternal, hard to knock down. When placed on a point however, the triangle conveys dynamism, instability and change.
Existing Lemery Municipal Hall
The new facade design mirrors the existing municipal hall's facade - preserving the massive central gable roof. However, while the existing places emphasis towards the center with its massive columns and curved balcony, the new design uses a modern approach via a large curtain wall and cantilevered canopy.
Triangles and arrow motifs are repeated throughout the facade. On the right side, a brise-soleil structure that resembles the arrow on the i-Angat logo points towards the sky and represents progress, moving forward towards a brighter tomorrow.
To present the design ideas to the local government of Lemery, I rendered a video walkthrough tour of the interior spaces of the building, edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.
